One month left, travels ahead!

Heia! Long time no see on this blog of mine. I apologise for the complete lack of posts these past... erm, six months. I realise that I have been procrastinating maybe a tiny bit too much, to a point that may have led you to believe that I had left Norway some time after New Year. Turns out that I have been on the same little island the whole time, studying, hiking, rolling in the snow and just enjoying life in the Arctic. I also finished my exams more than a month ago, leaving me with lots of free time (which I'm using wisely, see, to write on here, at long last).

The thick layers of snow eventually melted away, save for some fossilised patches of snow here and there in the city. But with summer came the midnight sun, an exciting phenomenon that happens to be the opposite version of the polar night. The sun never sets, giving me all that sweet vitamin D that I missed so dearly during the winter. The only problem is that it has been hiding behind the clouds for some weeks now, applying a sad, greyish filter over the city day and night. When the sky does clear up however, you feel as though the day will never end, presenting you with endless possibilities. Strolling about at two in the morning on a valley lit by the light of dawn is a thing here, and let me tell you that it's damn near magical.

Summing up the last few months in this one article would not be the most sensible thing to do. Instead, I plan on publishing at least one post per month, recounting my experiences in each period. To make it clear and easy to find, I will change the date of the publication to match with the month in question (yes, that's cheating!). As I run the risk of procrastinating some more and end up catching up my lateness after I leave, I set out to writing everything before my departure, which is on the 25th of July. Expect a series of articles going back in time in the coming weeks...

By the way, I'm travelling to Copenhagen and Stockholm with a friend in early July! I will definitely have to post about this little holiday too. More adventures to come, snakkes (talk to you later)!
